Issue#4 - Charity Edition
Your weekly Plympton, whats on ....
A huge thank you for the continued support!
We hit a 70% open rate last week, which proves Plympton really does care about what's happening on its doorstep. We have a bit of a lull in big events again this week, so I’m using this space to highlight some incredible local people raising money for great causes.
A quick note: None of the below are paid adverts. These are simply events or things we’ve chosen to share. We will always be honest if anything is an advert.

2. Breast Cancer Now - Fundraising Event
Afternoon tea and wellbeing event at the Rees Wellbeing Centre, Plympton on the 1st of August 2026 for the Breast Cancer Now charity .
Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s leading breast cancer charity; combining science and research to inform treatment and support, so that everyone with breast cancer lives, and lives well.
Message from the organiser …..
I’m arranging an afternoon tea, stalls, information stands and little wellbeing workshops/taster sessions, along with a fantastic raffle.
I am at the start of my own Breast Cancer journey, so I thought I’d set up an afternoon tea event for the Breast Cancer Now charity as I have found their information leaflets and website so clear, helpful and supportive so far, and I find that it lifts my mood to give back and keep my brain busy.
I’m hoping to combine the fundraising side of this event with awareness raising, women’s wellness and a celebration of survivors and fighters on this journey.
I’m pulling together women’s health, local breast cancer support, wellbeing services, women’s small businesses/stalls (especially those run by breast cancer warriors).
I aim to provide wellbeing packs for ladies that attend who are currently fighting or have survived breast cancer and hopefully there will also be enough spare to donate to the Primrose Breast Care Unit in Plymouth for those who may be newly diagnosed, too unwell or unable to attend. I hope to provide information & items that would help for a moment of self care & useful at all stages of treatment; being diagnosed, surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and finally recovery.
I will also make several male/unisex packs and aim to have specific information available for other genders as breast cancer can affect anyone.
Keep an eye on the event to pre-book your afternoon teas, for details of attendees and to purchase raffle tickets. If you would like to donate to my Fundraiser prior to the event, please use the link below.
